A new study by researchers at Public Health England shows that people who contract the Coronavirus after taking vaccines
may be less likely to transmit the infection to their family members
compared to those who have not received the vaccines.
To conduct the study, scientists examined data taken from nearly 1.5 million people in the United Kingdom
to investigate the effectiveness of vaccines in fighting the Coronavirus
And the study showed the following:
- That adults who received the Pfizer vaccine and contracted the Coronavirus after receiving the vaccine had a 49% less chance of transmitting the virus to the rest of their family, compared to those who did not receive the vaccine.
- That adults who received the AstraZenka vaccine and contracted the Coronavirus after receiving the vaccine had 38% less chances of transmitting the virus to the rest of their family.
According to the study, the effectiveness of vaccines in this regard often begins 14 days after receiving the vaccine
and the protection that corona vaccines may provide for the rest of the family applies to different age groups.
Although the effectiveness of the Pfizer vaccine in reducing the chances of transmission
between members of the same family was better compared to the AstraZeneca vaccine
the results of the study highlighted the importance of different vaccines in general in combating the Coronavirus.
